Vintage Patek Philippe Calatrava Ref. 3445, 18ct Yellow Gold, Black Dial, 1966

We are very pleased to offer this vintage Patek Philippe Calatrava Ref. 3445J in 18ct Yellow Gold with black & gilt dial. The 3445 featured Patek’s first automatic winding calibre 27- 460M with a date function and subsidiary seconds which in the 1960s was innovative and highly desirable. The movement number, 1122654 dates the watch to c.1966 ( thank you Collectability for your amazing watch dating guide!). Apart from the movement, another key feature is the dial: presented in high gloss, black lacquer with applied markers in yellow gold, signed Patek Philippe Geneve at 12 o’clock is a beautifully balanced design. The ref. 3445 also features a screw down case back which was a move away from the traditional ‘snap-on’ models of the past; the PP signed crown is delicately recessed in to the case. The watch benefitted from a Patek Philippe service and restoration in 2015 when a new strap was also fitted. Supplied with service documents, dated 2015. A true classic of its kind.
